PURPOSE: To provide a leukocyte-separating material capable of effectively catching and removing the leukocyte from blood by a simple operation, by comprising a porous material having a bubble point and a thickness controlled within specific ranges, respectively, and produced by compressing a porous material having a specified bubble point and a specified thickness.
CONSTITUTION: A porous material (having an uniformly controlled and large pore size) having a bubble point of <0.13kg/cm2 and a prescribed thickness is compressed to provide a porous material having a bubble point of 0.13W0.30kg/cm2 and a thickness of ≥0.30mm, in particular, ≥0.50mm. The porous material is used in the cases of performing the separation of the leukocyte by filtration methods and very readily packed into separators. The porous material has no danger or generating the cloggings and channelings thereof due to the caught leukocyte and no danger of the flowage of foreign matters therefrom in the separation operation, thereby permitting to perfectly perform leukocyte-removing operations.
