Abstract:

To provide a method for preparing a living radical polymer with precise control of molecular weight and molecular weight distribution by polymerizing a vinyl monomer by irradiation with light using a living radical polymerization initiator represented by formula (1) or the initiator with a compound represented by formula (2).

The invention relates to the preparation of the living radical polymer comprising polymerization of the vinyl monomer by irradiation with light using the living radical polymerization initiator represented by formula (1) or the initiator with a compound represented by formula (2); (R1Te)2. R1is a 1-8C alkyl group, an aryl group, a substituted aryl group or an aromatic heterocyclic group, R2and R3are each a H, or a 1-8C alkyl group. R4is an aryl group, a substituted aryl group, an aromatic heterocyclic group, an acyl group, amide group, oxycarbonyl group or cyano group.
