Abstract:
PURPOSE: To avoid the congestion of a packet network to prevent abandonment of packets by using an acceleration as the value expressing the degree of increase of the packet communication speed to control the packet communication.
CONSTITUTION: A maximum allowable packet communication speed is determined for packet transmission from a transmission packet terminal equipment 3 of the packet network, and the acceleration is provided as the value expressing the degree, in which the packet communication speed can be increased to the allowable packet communication speed, independently of this speed. That is, the future occurrence of congestion is detected by a packet communication speed V(t)=V+α.t of a time (t) after where α is the upper limit value of the acceleration and V is the present packet communication speed, and it is discriminated whether congestion will occur or not. If congestion will occur based on this discrimination, a congestion prediction signal is transmitted to the transmission packet terminal equipment 3 from a congestion forecasting circuit 25 of a repeating node device 2, and the transmission packet terminal equipment 3 reduces the packet communication speed.
