PURPOSE: To prepare a mixed amino acid useful as an enriched feed, etc., by hydrolyzing fish proteins obtained from waste water of a fish processing factory with a mineral acid, and neutralizing the product as it is or after concentration.
CONSTITUTION: Fish proteins obtained from the waste water of a fish processing factory is hydrolyzed with a mineral acid such as HCl, and neutralized as it is or after concentration to obtain the objective mixed amino acid. Treatment of the hydrolyzed liquid with activated charcoal enables the removal of impurities, especially oily components, and at the same time, the discoloration of the liquid. The mixed amino acid thus prepared contains substantially all essential amino acids in large amounts, and is suitable as an agent for enriching the nutritive components of a feed. The fish protein used as a starting material is perishable, and may cause the pollution of river, etc. when discharged without treatment, therefore the present process is useful also in view of the utilization of a pollution source as a resource.
