Title:
PREPARATION OF N-HYDROXY-N'-DIAZENIUM OXYDE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3386860
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To industrially, profitably prepare the compd., used as wood preservatives, etc., in the form of its copper salt by reacting the specified hydroxylamine or its salts with nitrosyl chloride or nitrosylsulfuric acid in aq. soln.
CONSTITUTION: Hydroxylamine represented by the formula R-NH-OH (where R is aliphatic or alicyclic group) or its salt (for example, cyclohexylhydroxylamine-hemisulfate, etc.), in 20 wt.% sulfuric acid and toluene, is reacted with nitrosyl chloride or nitrosylsulfuric acid at 8°C, and separated the org. phase after 20 minutes. The objective N-hydroxy-N'-diazenium oxides represented by the formula, which are used in the form of their copper salt as wood preservatives, are obtained by adding water to the org. phase, adjusting a value of pH of the aq. phase at 11.5 with 50% pottasium hydroxide aq. soln., then separating the aq. phase after extraction, and extracting the reaction product from the phase.
