PURPOSE: To prepare polyacrylamide having a degree of partial hydrolysis suitable for use in coagulants for water disposal by polymerizing and hydrolyzing the acrylamide using a specific hydrolysis agent, and, if necessary, by heat-treating the hydrous gelatinous polymer after the polymerization.
