PURPOSE: To efficiently prepare the titled slurry of low viscosity and high stability, by crushing petroleum coke in the presence of water in which a sulfonate- type or sulfate ester-type surfactant and an ether-type surfactant are dissolved.
CONSTITUTION: Water in which a sulfonate-type and/or sulfate-type surfactant, and an ether-type surfactant are dissolved, and petroleum coke are separately supplied to a crusher, or the both are preliminarily mixed with each other and then supplied to the crusher. It is not necessary to heat or cool the coke when crushed. The obtd. petroleum coke/water slurry has viscosity ≤ about 100cp. It contains no coarse particles, is pumped without any troubles and enhances an efficiency of gasification. Further it is highly stable and causes no precipitation of a coke particle during storage or transportation.
