PURPOSE: To prepare a powdery solid cosmetic, dispersible uniformly by a liquid binder, compression moldable at a low pressure, and having improved powder releasability, by using a calcium silicate powder having a specific shape or silica powder as a solidifying assistant.

CONSTITUTION: A powdery solid cosmetic is prepared by using calcium silicate powder formed from a scaly aggregate having an average diameter of 0.1W30μ in the long direction and thickness of 0.005W0.1μ, preferably having the crystal structure of gyrolite and a molar ratio (SiO2/CaO) between SiO2 and CaO≥1.6, or silica powder constituted of an aggregate having the shape similar to that of the calcium silicate powder as a solidifying assistant. The solidifying assistant has a very high liquid absorption, and a liquid binder and raw material powder firmly enter the space between the bonded scaly aggregates. Thus, the aimed good product can be obtained.
