PURPOSE: Propyne derivatives are made to react with phosphites in an organic solvent in the presence or absence of a catalyst, and then the title compounds, useful as cis-1-2-epoxypropylphosphonic acid, etc. as antibiotics, are obtained by the catalytic reduction of the above reaction products.
