PURPOSE: To obtain a protein feed economically, by inoculating a yeast which is propagated using a saccharide as a main nutrient to a squeezed solution prepared by squeezing residuary substances of mandarin again, cultivating and propagating it, recovering the propagated yeast.
CONSTITUTION: Residuary substances of mandarin obtained in the preparation process of mandarin juice are squeezed and separated into a solid material and a squeezed solution. When 0.05W5wt% calcium carbonate is added to the squeezed solution, an organic acid in the solution can be separated as a salt of the organic acid, the suspended solid material is further removed, and the solution at the middle part is taken out. A yeast such as Saccharomyces, Candida, Hansenula, etc. to be propagated using a saccharide as a main nutrient is inoculated into the solution, and cultivated. After it is cultivated aerobically, it is separated into the yeast and waste liquor by centrifugation, etc., and the yeast is dried to give a protein feed.
