PURPOSE: To reduce loss of gaseous H2 in crude gas by combining ≥3 purification vessels contg. hydrogen occluding alloy.
CONSTITUTION: At least three purification vessels 1W3 contg. hydrogen occluding alloy are prepd. After fllowing gaseous H2 to be occluded by feeding crude gaseous H2 to the vessel 1 through a valve V1, a portion F of the purified gaseous H2 is fed from the vessel 3 to the vessel 1 through a valve V6 and a valve V4, and concentrated gaseous impurities G in the vessel 1 is fed to the vessel 2 through a valve V1 and a valve V2, thus, gaseous H2 alone is occluded. Then, the valve V1 is closed and the valve V4 is opened to collect the purified gaseous H2 E in the vessel 3, then the valve V2 is opened to introduce the crude gaseous H2 into the vessel 2 and gaseous H2 is occluded. Thereafter, the vessel 1 is exchanged with the vessel 3, the vessel 2 is exchanged with the vessel 1, and the operation is continued using the vessel 3 in place of the vessel 2.
