PURPOSE: To prepare the titled clear coating which forms a film with excellent impact resistance, etc., by adding a levelling agent, absolute alcohol and water to a mixt. of an aqueous emulsion of vegetable or mineral oil and an aqueous emulsion of ethyl acrylate monomer.

CONSTITUTION: Levelling agent such as sodium dehydroacetate and, if necessary, corrosion inhibitor are mixed with a mixt. of an aqueous emulsion of vegetable oil such as coconut oil, or mineral oil such as monter oil emulsified in the presence of an emulsifier and an aqueous emulsion of ethyl acrylate monomer emulsified in the presence of an emulsifier. Then pure water which contains absolute alcohol is added to the above mixed solution.

EFFECT: The clear coating adheres strongly to the surface of metal and forms a film excellent in hardness, lubricating property, resistance to impact, abrasion and water and transparency.
