Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce an agent capable of releasing its active ingredient (s) after the lapse of a specified time without being affected by physiological factors. CONSTITUTION: This production is intended for producing the subject agent, in particular, protective agent or capsule agent. This agent consists of a core which contains an active ingredient (s) and is formed by covering the active agent (s) with a hydrophobic layer, wherein the hydrophobic layer comprises: (1) a hydrophobic material that has a 50 to 90 deg.C melting point and is selected from (a) higher alcohols such as cetyl alcohol, (b) higher fatty acids such as stearic acid, (c) esters each formed from a higher fatty acid and a higher alcohol and (d) beeswax, wax, etc.; (2) a surfactant having an HLB(hydrophile-lipophile balance) of 10 to 16, such as a polyethoxylated fatty acid ester of sorbitan; and optionally, (3) a water-soluble film forming agent such as hydroxyethylcellulose.
