Title:
PREPARATION OF SILICON OXIDE-COATED SOLID PARTICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08209025
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To economically form a relatively thick silicon oxide coating by decomposing a specific volatile silicon compound with the use of heated oxygen or the like while agitating solid particles.

Volatile silicon compounds containing a silane having an alkanoyloxy group are decomposed with the use of water vapor and/or oxygen at 100-600°C (preferably 150-300°C) while agitating solid particles such as aluminum particles to obtain silicon oxide-coated solids particles. Further, as the most preferred example of the silane can be mentioned di-tert-butoxy- diacetoxysilane. The coated particles are suitable particularly for crime prevention printing inks and cosmetics.
