Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare a thiolignin with high water solubility.
CONSTITUTION: The objective compound is obtained by dissolving lignin such as a sulfonated lignin or the like in an aqueous alkaline solution, adding an organic amine-sulfuric anhydride complex selected from among a pyridine- sulfuric anhydride complex, a triethylamine-sulfuric anhydride complex and a trimethylamine-sulfuric anhydride complex to the solution and reacting the complex with the lignin under the conditions in which the concentration of lignin solution is 25 to 50 wt.%, the reaction time is 60 min and the reaction temp. lies between 25°C and the boiling point of the lignin solution.
