PURPOSE: To obtain truely spherical powder, having a uniform particle diameter, by mixing a saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer with an adduct of alkylphenol and ethylene oxide and stirring to emulsify the mixture.
CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. Saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having a content of vinyl acetate group of 5W50wt% or the same modified by carboxyl groups which is obtained by reacting the same with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or cyclic carboxylic anhydride is mixed with 10W100pts.wt. organic solvent with a boiling point of 80°C or higher which dissolves the above-mentioned saponified copolymer or the same modified by carboxyl groups and is not freely miscible with water, 300W1,000pts.wt. water, and 0.1W10pts.wt. adduct of alkylphenol and ethylene oxide having a HLB value of 10W20. Then the mixture is emulsified maintaining its temperature above the softening point of the above-mentioned saponified copolymer or the same modified by carboxyl groups, and thereafter, the temperature of the system is, under stirring, lowered below the above-mentioned softening point.
