PURPOSE: To obtain the subject combination which affords coating films with a high degree of gloss, and excellent in UV resistance, washing agent resistance and corrosion resistance, by polymerizing (meth)acrylate esters and aromatic vinyl monomers in a specific method in epoxy resin-amine adducts.
CONSTITUTION: In 3 to 30 wt.%, based on the solids, of epoxy resin-amine adducts (A), which has been optionally partly defunctionalized, 70-97 wt.% of a monomer mixture (B) comprising 7-20 wt.% of esters of (meth)acrylic acid containing secondary or tertiary amino group, 15-30 wt.% of monoesters of (meth)acrylic acid with diols containing 2-6C alkylene and/or 4-12C oxyalkylene groups, 50-78 wt.% of (meth)acrylic acid alkyl esters having 1-18C alkyl groups and up to 10 wt.% of aromatic vinyl monomers is subjected to radical polymerization, and the obtained polymer is subjected to partial protonization of the amino groups, subsequently mixed with 20-40 wt.%, based on the solids, of crosslinking agents (C), and the diluted with dieonized water to give the object coating binder combinations.
