To obtain a rotationally symmetrical hollow body which has a low volatile content, is excellent in water resistance, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance and non-tackiness and is suitable for the preparation of a conduit of water or gases and various kinds of tanks by winding roving impregnated with a specific resin around a core and curing the resin.
Rovings impregnated with a resin are wound around a core and subsequently the resin is cured to obtain the aimed hollow body, where the resin comprises an unsaturated polyester resin, a vinyl ester resin [e.g. a resin having a group of formula I (wherein R is H or CH3) obtained from an epoxy-novolak resin and (meth)acrylic acid] or a vinyl ester urethane resin [e.g. a resin which is a reaction product of a polyfunctional isocyanate, optionally a polyhydric alcohol, a polyfunctional amine and hydroxyalkyl (meth) acrylate and has groups of formula II and III (wherein R2 is a 4-40C divalent aliphatic group or the like) and of the formula: -OR3-O (wherein R3 is a 2-100C aliphatic group or the like)] containing at least 5 wt.% of tert-butyl styrene.
