Abstract:

Provided are: a preparation which can be used for the promotion of the proliferation of neural stem cells, a preparation which can be used for the prevention or treatment of diseases associated with the decrease in neural stem cells, a preparation which can be used for the promotion of the formation of postsynapses, and a preparation which can be used for the prevention or treatment of diseases associated with the decrease in the formation of postsynapses, each of which contains specific DNA encoding PQBP-1 or a polypeptide encoded by the DNA as an active ingredient; and a screening method. The preparation which can be used for the promotion of the proliferation of neural stem cells contains PQBP-1-encoding DNA comprising the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1 or the like or a polypeptide encoded by the DNA or the like as an active ingredient. The preparation which can be used for the promotion of the formation of postsynapses contains PQBP-1-encoding DNA comprising the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1 or the like or a polypeptide encoded by the DNA or the like as an active ingredient.
