Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prepreg curing method for preparing a composite material having excellent surface finish and high fiber consolidation.SOLUTION: A method for curing a prepreg includes: a step of preparing a prepreg containing a thermosetting resin composition and a fiber; a step of placing the prepreg under reduced pressure; a step of removing approximately 1 wt.% to approximately 3 wt.% of volatile substance in the prepreg based on the total weight in the prepreg and exposing the prepreg in enough time to increase viscosity of the prepreg to a range of approximately 1 to approximately 40,000 poise under reduced pressure at a first rising temperature; optionally, a step of exposing the prepreg in enough time to remove all of the volatile substances remained in the prepreg under reduced pressure at a second rising temperature; a step of exposing the prepreg in enough time to cure the prepreg under reduced pressure at a third rising temperature; and a step of exposing the prepreg cured at a fourth rising temperature condition lower than the one or more of the first, second and third rising temperature conditions under reduced pressure or unreduced pressure.SELECTED DRAWING: None
