Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a bait capable of preventing scaling off of sardines, and lowering the mortality, in feeding the sardines used as live baits for fishing oceanic bonitos and tunas, by adding specific substances to the baits.

CONSTITUTION: A feed prepared by incorporating 1W200μg/g of male hormone, e.g. methyltestosterone or fluoxymesterone, into a bait for sardines. The feed administered for 5W10 days prevents sardines, e.g. maiwashi, urumeiwashi, anchovies, or taiwanainoko, as live baits from scaling off.
