To provide a method for preserving fishes or the like at low temperature, capable of preventing that materials to be preserved at low temperature, such as fishes, are immersed in ice-melted water to deteriorate their appearances, and capable of preventing the conduction of heat from the lower surface of the container to preserve the ice and maintain the preservation effect at the low temperature over a long time.
This method for preserving fishes or the like at low temperature comprises vertically dividing the inner space of a cooling preservation container with a division plate having water-draining holes, receiving ice and materials to be preserved at low temperature, such as the fishes, in a receiving space on the division plate, and draining water melted from the ice with the passage of time into a water reservoir space under the division plate. The cooling preservation container comprises a foamed polystyrene container main body and a foamed polystyrene lid which have a depression and a projection, respectively, that can be fit each other. Thus, the materials to be preserved are preserved at low temperature in a state that melted water is stayed in the water reservoir space.
