Abstract:

PURPOSE: To preserve a kind of powdered milk for a long period without causing deterioration, by sealing hermetically the powdered milk and a disoxidant in a non-permeable bag or container and preserving it.

CONSTITUTION: A kind of powdered milk such as powdered totally fat milk, defatted powdered milk, cream powder, butter milk powder, etc. is put in a non- permeable bag or container made of a film laminated with vinylidene chloride resin, aluminum plate, etc. A disoxidant selected from iron powder, iron carbide powder, sulfite, ferric salt, hydroquinone, ascorbic acid, gallic acid, catechol, etc. is packed with a permeable packing material, the packed disoxidant is also put in the non-permeable bag or container having the powdered milk, preferably an oxygen detecting agent is added to it, and the bag or container is closed hermetically to preserve it. Consequently, the powder milk can be preserved for a long period without causing smell or oil burning or smell of milk decomposition, etc.
