PURPOSE: To obtain a preservative for cut flowers safely usable for any plant, not limiting usage because of no use of chemical having strong action on organisms and no fear of residual toxicity, not causing break of flowers at neck.
CONSTITUTION: A preservative for cut flowers comprising a solution or suspension containing silver ion, calcium ion and a phosphate-based ion as active ingredients, having pH3-7, a molar ratio of calcium/P of 1:2-2:1 and 0.0001-20wt.% silver ion based on sum of calcium ion and phosphate ion or a preservative for cut flowers comprising a solution or suspension containing a substance prepared by supporting 0.0001-20wt.% silver ion on hydroxyapatite by adsorption or ion exchange as an active ingredient, having pH3-7.
