PURPOSE: To keep environment well, avoid the decomposition of hide components caused by bacteria and enzyme, and stabilize storage for a long time by immediately treating the hide with CO2 after peeling off.

CONSTITUTION: After peeling off, a hide is immediately shock-cooled with preferably CO2 snow of about -79°C, housed in a plastic container preferably having an inner volume of 1-1.5 m3 with its atmosphere purged with CO2 after sealing so that the O2 content becomes preferably less than 1%, and the hide is stored there. To protect the hide from over pressure, setting of a safety device to the container is preferable.
