PURPOSE: To eliminate the needs for boring a hole for positioning a work and forming a tongs margin by boring a work adsorbing hole on a lower die to communicate to an air intake duct and by providing a vacuum chuck for adsorbing a work on a work feeding device.

CONSTITUTION: On a press working part 1a of a press frame 1, the plural work adsorbing holes are bored to communicate to a cabin 8. On this cabin 8, one end part 9a of the air intake duct 9 is communicated, on the other end part 9b, a shutter 10 operated by an electromagnet is provided. Moreover, on one side part of the press frame 1, a work feeding device 13 to convey the work W to the lower die 2 is provided and on a part of its movable frame body 17, the vacuum chuck 18 to adsorb and to hold the work W is provided. In this state, the work W is adsorbed and held, the movable frame body 17 is moved in the left direction to convey the work W to the lower die 2 and to load the work W on it. Then, the shutter 10 is closed to fix the work W temporarily on the die and then the punching is performed.
