PURPOSE: To eliminate the mode cam load of a press-contacting reaction and to stabilize the traveling performance of a tape by detaining the turning of a locking lever to an adequate position by a detaining means at the time of press-contacting of pinch rollers to a capstan shaft.
CONSTITUTION: A driving lever 15 turns in a direction B and simultaneously the locking lever 19 turns in a direction C when a mode cam 4 rotates in a direction A. Further, the supporting shaft 24 of the pinch lever 3 turns. Consequently, the shaft part of the pinch rollers 11 is determined in the position relative to the capstan shaft 12. Further, the reaction of a locking spring 23 acts perpendicularly to the shaft 18 and the load is not applied on the mode cam 4 when the lever 19 turns. Further, the reaction of the locking spring acts in the pressing direction to the stopper 28 is adequately set and a spacing is provided between the outer periphery of the pin 20 and the inner periphery of a cam groove 21. The reaction of the locking spring 23 is thus prevented from acting on the mode cam 4 and the press-contacting force is eliminated.
