To provide a press device of a wound element, which can flatten the wound element into a uniform shape without causing a failure such as complication of a device and breakage of the wound element.
The press device 10 of the wound element includes a first press die 11 of immobile state having a first press face 12, a second press die 21 which has a second press face 22 and can relatively move against the first press die 11, and chucks 31, 41 to retain both end parts of a battery element 1 so that the center axis CL of the battery element 1 and the center face CM of both press faces 12, 22 are overlapped. Moreover, the chucks 31, 41 are constituted to move along a moving direction of the second press die 21. Additionally, so as to retain a position in which the center axis CL of the battery element 1 and the center face CM of both press faces 12, 22 are overlapped, both press dies 11, 21 pinch the battery element 1 while moving the chucks 31, 41, thereby flattening the battery element 1.
