PURPOSE: To improve working efficiency by an arrangement wherein a plate holding means is provided to work for feeding a long plate in necessary length without catching it on the second cutting edge.

CONSTITUTION: Two boards 18, 28 constitute a holding means for steel plate material 7 by appearing between lower cutting edges 2, 3 or escaping therefrom in interlocking with a movement of male die 4. Where the male die 4 has reached a top dead center, the steel plate material 7 is retained on the holding means and thus fed in the direction indicated by arrow F. Since the material 7 is supported by the boards 18, 28 its nose gets over the cutting edge 2 and also exceeds further the cutting edge 3 without bending for tare regardless of the length to feed, thus reaching a conveyor 19. When the nose comes 2l apart in length from the cutting edge 2, the male die 4 drops to cut the material.
