To reduce the load on a mechanism for supporting a press die by controlling generation of any eccentric load on the press die.
Press dies 1 are provided on a sizing press machine 2 for pressing a cast slab to the predetermined width. The pair of press dies 1 are arranged on both sides in the width direction of the cast slab S. The press dies 1 include: a first press face 4 with a tapered surface shape, which is inclined so that the spacing between the press dies is gradually narrowed toward the outlet side in the transfer direction of the cast slab S; and a second press face 5 with a flat surface shape, which is continuously formed on the outlet side of the first press face 4 and parallel to the transfer direction; wherein there are provided L1 (the feed amount of the cast slab S per each press) and L2 (the distance from the center of a crankshaft 9 to a boundary between the first press face 4 and the second press face 5), which satisfy the inequality 0≤(L1+L2)-(L1+ΔWmax/2/tanθ)/2, and minimize |(L1+L2)-(L1+ΔWmax/2/tanθ)/2|.
