PURPOSE: To obtain a press die that does not cause defective operation and performs good piercing work by stopping or starting piercing by energizing a driving cam by an elastic body and taking out and putting a locking member from and in a sliding cam provided with a piercing punch.

CONSTITUTION: In a press die that slides a sliding cam 3 provided in a lower die 1 bringing a driving cam 23 provided slidably in an upper die 21 through an elastic body 31 into contact and pierces a work W by a piercing punch 15 attached to the sliding cam 3 and a button die 19, a locking member 13 is provided in an insertion hole 11 between the sliding cam 3 and lower die 1 allowing free taking out and putting in. When this locking member 13 is inserted, the sliding cam 3 that comes near to the work W through the driving cam with descent of the upper die 21 is stopped at a specified position and the elastic body is contracted. On the other hand, by attaching and detaching the locking member 13, the elastic body 31 is extended sufficiently, and the sliding cam 3 is shifted to the position of working of the work W through a driving cam 23.
