Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit construction even under the conditions where an overhead space is limited in pressing a reinforcing pipe 12 into the ground by the thrust of a jack 15 while supporting the press-in reaction of the jack 15 by an existing bridge pier 10.
SOLUTION: The reinforcing pipe 12 for covering the periphery of the bridge pier 10 is pressed into the ground by the thrust of the jack 15 while supporting the press-in reaction of the jack 15 by the existing bridge pier 10. At this time, a pressure member 17 is connected to an upper end 15a2 of a pressing rod 15a of the jack 15, and the upper end of the reinforcing pipe 12 is pressed through the pressure member 17. An application point P of jack thrust to the reinforcing pipe 12 is thereby positioned above a lower end 15a1 of the pressing rod 15a.
