Abstract:

To provide a press formed article having ribs which can be easily formed using only press forming, while also taking forming limits into consideration, and to provide a method and a device for manufacturing the same.

The method for manufacturing the press formed article includes: using a first drawing to form a concave portion 16, which has first side walls 11 and a base wall 14, in a blank material B; using a second drawing to lift the base wall 14 in the opposite direction to the first drawing to form second side walls 12 that face the first side walls 11 across spaced portions S and that are integrally connected to the first side walls; and forming ribs 10 by bringing the first side walls 11 and the second side walls 12 into proximity with each other by a bonding process.
