To obtain a press forming method of a channel material and a press forming apparatus for the channel material in which the channel material having a plate-like base and a pair of side wall parts connected to both sides of the base can be formed so that the side wall parts are perpendicular to the base, and further a shape of the channel material immediately after the forming does not become an undercut shape for a forming die.
A press forming method of a channel material includes: a step of press forming a long member W1 from a base material W, the long member having a pair of tilt bases W2 configuring the bases W2 of a cross section V shape as a whole by connecting one end of both with each other, and a cross section W-shaped part comprising a pair of side wall parts W3 connected while one end is perpendicular to the other end of each tilt base, respectively, or while intersecting at an acute angle; a step of supporting one surface of the long member by support means 56 from the side wall part and the opposite side; and a step of deforming the base so that the pair of tilt bases are positioned on one plane, by sandwiching the one end of the pair of tilt bases with pressing means 58 and support means positioned between the pair of side walls.
