To prevent occurrence of defective articles in which a part of a flange-shaped part is left behind on a punched product side or a part of a product is left behind on a scrap side in a press forming method for a press-formed article having no flange.
In the press forming method, a long metal plate 10 is progressively fed to each working position, a blank hole 18 is punched, a remaining forming portion 17 is drawn so as to be swollen in a topped cylindrical shape, and swollen portions 19 and 12 after the drawing are punched in a substantially same diameter as the drawing outside diameter by using an upper die 58 and a lower punch 63. The lower punch 63 for punching out is provided in a vertically movable manner while being supported by a spring 71 and oscillated, the movable punch 63 is pressed down to a punch plate 66 by the upper die 58, and tightly attached thereto, and the swollen portions 19 and 12 are pushed into a die hole 57 and punched out.
