A press includes: an upper die and a lower die, which perform pressing while vertically clamping a workpiece; a slide 3, to whose lower surface the upper die is fixed and which is vertically moved; a slide driving mechanism 5, which generates press-molding force by vertically moving the slide 3; and a slide adjusting device 13 for adjusting the posture of the slide 3. The slide adjusting device 13 has a cylinder device 13A, which applies a load to the slide 3 to change the posture of the slide 3 by changing its stroke position, and an adjusting means 13B for adjusting the stroke position of the cylinder device 13A.
