To provide a press machine that moves a slide up and down smoothly and holds the slide horizontally with a high degree of accuracy.

The press machine includes: a frame; a crankshaft which has a main shaft rotatably supported by the frame and a plurality of eccentric shafts in phase mutually; the slide arranged in a longitudinal direction of the crankshaft, vertically movably guided, and holding a metal plate; a plurality of motion converting mechanisms parallely provided between the respective eccentric shafts and the slide to convert rotational motion of the crankshaft into a vertical motion, each of which has a built-in adjusting means having a variable bottom-dead-center position; a plurality of bottom-dead-center position-detecting devices for detecting bottom-dead-center positions of the slide for each at least two points with spacing each other in the longitudinal direction of the slide; and a control circuit for controlling an operation of the adjusting means to adjust an adjusting mechanism of at least one of the motion converting mechanisms, on the basis of output signals from respective bottom-dead-center position detecting means.
