PURPOSE: To apply a drawing work or a shape forming work to a work with a single die, by installing an outer nest for locating a long size work at the die on the side wherein the work is placed, and by installing an inner nest for locating a short size work, possible to advance onto the die face whereupon the work is placed when the die is to be opened and to withdraw when the die is to be closed, at inner side of the outer nest.

CONSTITUTION: In case of deep drawing the parts of a long size, rear floor panel, the inner next 34 is withdrawn by the air cylinder 35 so as to sink its upper surface 34a lower than the die face 28a. The outer nest 31, while being guided by the guide 33, is pushed up by the air cylinder 32 so as to jut its upper end face out of the die face 28a by a prescribed amount (d). As a result, the work W placed upon the die face 28a is located by the stationary next 30 and the outer nest 31. Next, the press machine is operated to put down the plug holder 25 for holding the work W down; after that, the punch 26 is put down so as to apply the drawing work to the work W which is thereby formed into the prescribed shape by the collaboration of the punch 26 and the die 28.
