To provide a press-molding die that can accurately measure a processing surface pressure of a minute part even when a processing surface pressure of a workpiece molding surface is increased at the minute part, thereby detecting galling caused in the press-molding die, and to provide a method for detecting galling with a die.

In the press-molding die, a die 12 is formed by laminating a plurality of steel plates 12a, 12a... so as to come into contact with a molding surface of the workpiece W in the periphery thereof on a workpiece W side during press molding; steel plates 12a, 12a... each include a pressure measuring means as a galling detection means that includes strain gauges 13, 13... and a measuring apparatus 15; and surface pressures of peripheries of steel plates 12a, 12a... that come into contact with the workpiece molding surface during press molding are measured from values measured by strain gauges 13, 13... and longitudinal elasticity modulus of steel plates 12a, 12a... in which strain gauges 13, 13... are disposed.
