Abstract:
To provide a press molding method and a press molding apparatus capable of suppressing generation of cracks and winkles together in a press molding formed into a hat shape in section.SOLUTION: A press material S is press-molded to acquire a press molding P formed into a hat shape in section by using an upper die 31, a lower die 32, and a punch 33 provided in the upper die 31. The press material S is set between the upper die 31 and the lower die 32, and then the upper die 31 and the lower die 32 are brought close to each other to set a clearance CL between places of the upper die 31 and the lower die 32 corresponding to an outer region OR of the press material S at a position where both surfaces of the press material S can slide into contact with the upper die 31 and the lower die 32. Then, the punch 33 is advanced to form an inner region IR of the press material S into a U shape in section while sliding both surfaces of the outer region OR of the press material S into contact with the upper die 31 and the lower die 32.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
