PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press molding method for molding by suppressing wrinkles with respect to a press molded article with a C-shaped or hat-shaped cross section curved in projection form in a molding height direction.SOLUTION: A press molding method related to this invention, with respect to a product-shaped press-molded article 81 with a hat-shaped cross section having a top plate part 83 and a vertical wall part 85 curved in projection form in a molding height direction, a product-shaped curvature radius of the curve of the top plate part 83, and wrinkles generated in a flange part 87 when molded with the vertical molded part 85 as the longitudinal line length, used to mold the curvature radius of a projected curve of the top plate part 3 with no changes of the product-shaped curvature radius, comprises a vertical wall molding step of molding the vertical wall part 5 having a recessed curve part 9 of a 5000 mm or more of a curvature radius curved in a recessed form inward in a width direction along a longitudinal direction as viewed in plane, where the vertical wall molding step increases the longitudinal line length by 0.0002-0.0263% as compared with the product-shaped longitudinal line length.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
