To provide a press type cast slab rolling reduction apparatus which has a compact and inexpensive configuration and a function for carrying cast slabs.

The cast slab rolling reduction apparatus 10 includes a lower roll 20 held so as to rotate, and an upper roll 21 which is arranged just above the lower roll 20 and carries out the rolling reduction of the cast slab 18 arranged on the lower roll 20 by means of a rolling reduction cylinder 27. In this apparatus, the rotation of the upper roll 21 is carried out by means of a hydraulic cylinder 32 which is connected to the shaft 29 of the upper roll 21 via arms 30 and is driven synchronizing with the rolling reduction of the rolling reduction cylinder 27. The lower roll 20 is rotationally driven by a rotational driving source 42, and a feed is given to a bloom 18.
