Title:
PRESS WELDING METHOD OF TWO MEMBERS OF WHICH SURFACES TO BE JOINED CONSIST OF METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59215281
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a joint part which has slight strain and has high reliability by disposing joint surfaces to face each other, conducting directly high frequency current to the joint surface of one member to heat selectively, simultaneously and quickly the surface skin parts of the two members facing each other and pressure welding the two members.

CONSTITUTION: A joint surface of a sleeve-shaped member 1 is disposed to face the joint surfaces of members 2 which are shaft bodies consisting of metals and high frequency current is conducted to the members 2 to heat selectively and directly the surface skin part by resistance so that the surface skin part of the member 1 facing said members is simultaneously inductively heated by said high frequency current. The members 2 are press-fitted into the member 1 to pressure-weld these members to each other in the stage when at least one of the surface skins on the joint surfaces of the members 1, 2 is heated to a high temp. softening region or melting region. If the joining materials are ceramics, a metal is coated on the joint surfaces and such surfaces are press welded. The strain in the joint part is thus minimized and the joint part having high reliability is obtd. The joining of large-sized parts having intricate shapes is also possible.
