To provide a press work device capable of performing periodic cutting blade maintenance without needing many man hours.
A press work device 1 includes maintenance means 30 and 50 arranged below a lower cutting blade 55 disposed in the lower mold 5 of a pair of upper and lower molds 3 and 5 and/or above an upper cutting blade 8 disposed in the upper mold 3 and can maintain cutting blades 8 and 55 of the opposing sides, and stop position control means 10 for controlling a stop position during descending of the upper mold 3. The stop position control means 10 can switch the stop position of the upper mold 3 between a cutting completion position P1 where cutting of a workpiece W is completed and maintenance enable positions P21 and P22 where the cutting blades 8 and 55 of the opposing sides can be subjected to maintenance by the maintenance means 30 and 55.
