To provide a press having a wide slide lower face which can improve the working precision of a workpiece even if an eccentric load is applied.
In the press, plungers 8 connected to a crankshaft and a slide 10 are connected at three point positions along a workpiece carrying-in direction. Slide inclination correction devices 20 are arranged in the vicinity of the connection part between each plunger 8 and the slide 10. Each slide inclination correction device 20 comprises: a worm wheel 22 screwed with each plunger 8; a worm 21 engaged with the worm wheel 22; and a motor rotatively driving the worm 21. Linear scales 30, 31 are set between the slide 10 and a bolster 7, and the inclination of the slide 10 can be detected. When the inclination of the slide 10 is detected by the liner scales 30, 31, either slide inclination correction device 20 is driven so as to correct its position.
