To provide a press apparatus capable of pressing a workpiece, which is formed by laminating a plurality of plate materials, in the laminating direction of the plate materials, thereby joining the respective plate materials firmly and accurately in a laminated state.

The apparatus includes a placing table 15 which is for placing a workpiece W composed of a plurality of iron cores S laminated and a pressurizing member 35 which is for pressing from above the workpiece W on the placing table 15. The placing table 15 is supported by a holding member 11 in such a manner as to be freely movable in a horizontal plane. The workpiece W is positioned by a positioning member 39 so that respective iron cores S of the workpiece W are situated on the same vertical axial line when the pressing member 35 descends.
