To provide a light and inexpensive clutch pulley in particular used for a component of an automobile.
A pressure actuated clutch pulley for rotationally inter-engages an input device and an output shaft, including a sheave member, a hub member, a plate member, and a clutch. The sheave member 20 includes an input section 28 adapted to engage the input device and a body section 30 extending radially inward from the input section. The hub member 22 includes an output section 32 adapted to engage the output shaft 14. The plate member 24 includes a radially outer edge 34 mounted to the input section of the sheave member. The sheave member, the hub member, and the plate member define a cavity. A radially inner edge 36 is movable between two axial separate positions based upon a pressure change within the cavity. When the inner edge of the plate member lies at a predetermined axial position, the plate member and the hub member are inter-engaged via the clutch.
