To provide a compact and inexpensive pressure adjusting device of simple piping, capable of switching set pressure.
This pressure adjusting device includes a housing 21 for forming an introducing side fuel passage 37 and a discharge side fuel passage 32h, a partition wall-like pressure adjusting member 22 capable of opening a valve so as to communicate the fuel passages 37 and 32h in response to introducing fuel pressure, and a compression coil spring 27 capable of energizing the pressure adjusting member 22 in the valve closing direction, and adjusts fuel pressure in a fuel supply passage 15 to an ordinary set pressure level in response to the introducing fuel pressure. The pressure adjusting device includes a throttle element 39 for generating the throttling action on the upstream side of a specific position of the discharge side fuel passage 32h when a fuel discharge flow rate from the discharge side fuel passage 32h becomes a throttle set flow rate or more, and a passage control valve 45 for functioning as a relief valve for holding the fuel pressure on the upstream side of the specific position in a relief set pressure level when the fuel pressure on the upstream side of the specific position is increased to high pressure of exceeding the ordinary set pressure level.
