Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure equalization vent with increased airflow efficiency across the vent.SOLUTION: A pressure equalization vent 314 for use in an aircraft assembly is provided. The pressure equalization vent includes an opening 500 having a first end 502 and a second end 504 opposite the first end, and a first side 506 and a second side 508 opposite the first side. The vent further includes a plurality of louvers 510 positioned within the opening. Each louver is positioned at a predetermined distance d from an adjacent louver to form a gap 512 between the louver and the adjacent louver. Each louver includes an airfoil-shaped cross-section configured to increase airflow efficiency across the vent.
