PURPOSE: To obtain a long life toner excelling in pressure fixing performance, having a uniform outer shell, and excelling in charing performance and impact resistance, by constituting with the core material containing pressure fixing component and the outer shell to cover the core material, and containing a hardening agent of outer shell in the core material.
CONSTITUTION: In a capsule toner for pressure fixing in electrophotography or the like, fine particles of magnetic substance (ferrite or the like) and a hardening agent (citric acid, P-toluene sulfonic acid, or the like) of outer shell material (epoxy resin, melamine resin, or the like) are contained in a core substance of a material having a linear pressure of about 5W10kg/cm and has an affinity for paper texture, such as polyethylene. The outer shell material measures 0.5W3μ in thickness, and contains a metallized dye, charge control agent, etc. In production, first the components for the core substance are mixed and crushed to obtain a core member, which is dispersed in a solution of outer shell constituent substance, and an insulating resin layer of which outer shell is hardened is formed around the core substance by polymerization or other method, and the uncured resin is removed by organic solvent to obtain toner.
